Wineology is a DIY wine kit that introduces the pleasures of craft winemaking to a new generation.
By uncovering key insights into Wineology’s target demographic, we were able to forge a direct path to a meaningful brand name, engaging copy, and making a personality that is youthful.
We started with making the connection between the name and the product clear, and giving the brand name a concise definition. This paved the way for us to play off the visual themes associated with the art of winemaking.
From there we created a series of jazzy graphics that wrap around the box and illustrate how simple Wineology’s equipment-free winemaking process is. The aesthetic is part chem textbook, part midcentury atomic age, and full-on modern typography.
The design for the packaging distills the directions down to a few simple steps, while communicating the modern evolution of a once traditional pastime. A fresh brand voice and copy strips the old-world reputation out of wine production and consumption and repositions it as a DIY craft experience for sharing and enjoying without reservation.
